Oxibendazole is primarily utilized as an anthelmintic drug in veterinary practices. Its applications include:

Oxibendazole exhibits significant biological activity against helminth parasites. Its mechanism of action involves binding to the colchicine-sensitive site of tubulin, inhibiting microtubule polymerization. This disruption leads to degenerative changes in the tegument and intestinal cells of the parasites, impairing glucose uptake and depleting glycogen stores. Consequently, this results in decreased adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production essential for parasite survival.
