Trimethoxysilane

Trimethoxysilane has diverse applications, including:

The biological activity of trimethoxysilane has been studied primarily concerning its toxicological effects. It is considered highly toxic upon inhalation or ingestion and can cause severe burns upon contact with skin or eyes. The compound can also produce methanol when hydrolyzed, which adds to its potential toxicity . Studies have indicated that trimethoxysilane can be absorbed into corneal tissue, leading to eye damage .
