• Nanoparticle synthesis: The compound has been employed in the preparation of iron nanoparticles (11 nm size), cobalt ferrite nanocrystals (6 nm diameter), and CoPt-polymer nanostructured composites.
• Solvent: Due to its ether properties, dioctyl ether can serve as a solvent in certain chemical processes.
• Fuel additives: Ethers, including dioctyl ether, are sometimes used as fuel additives to improve combustion properties.
