Its primary biological activity involves the synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides through a process known as phosphitylation. This compound interacts with nucleosides to form deoxyribonucleoside 3′-bis(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propyl) phosphite units. The biochemical pathways affected primarily relate to the synthesis of these nucleotides.
