Inhalation may lead to corrosive injuries in the upper respiratory tract and lungs, while ingestion poses a high risk of toxicity. The dermal LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of subjects) in guinea pigs is reported to be between 14-400 mg/kg, indicating its potential for acute toxicity.
