It can irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract upon exposure. Studies indicate that ingestion of significant amounts may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, but lower concentrations have shown no significant adverse effects in animal studies. Its degradation products are non-toxic, contributing to its classification as environmentally friendly.
